May 14, 201115 yr I know this feature was available on Windows XP, for some time, then removed in Windows Vista> Onwards.I just got a 2nd monitor, and I'd like to use the feature on Windows 7, extended Desktop isn't so much what I want. I'm using a nVidia Card. Any help?

May 15, 201115 yr horizontal spaning (to make one desktop out of two monitors to have one big virtual cockpit screen over two monitors) is with win7 not possible. the only way is the dual head2go oder tripple haed2go from matrox.http://www.matrox.com/graphics/de/products/gxm/dh2go/I was looking for exact the same thing in win7 and I searched everywhere in the www for a long time, but the only thing I found out is that win7 does not support this feature anymore. you have to buy the dual haed2go. If i'm wrong and there is a solution I would also be very interested ;-)nicolas reich Nicolas Reich

May 15, 201115 yr Sometimes makes me want to go back in the generations of Microsoft.. amazes me as to why they would do this when really it is no value to them is it?Have to spend more money to do something we could always do for free.. May 15, 201115 yr This information is wrong, there is no need to buy anything from Matrox both ATI and Nvidia offer there own solutions, ATI's is called eyefinity i am running currently with 4 monitors, 3 27" as a single desktop 5780x1080 and a single sat above for static displays, maps and so on.Nvidias is called surround gaming i think but is basically the same thing. I only have experience of the ATI solution. Note 2 monitors isn't ideal because the two bevels of the monitors will form the middle of the display, it can be very annoying (certainly on FPS games) ATI also has a few other quirks like required active md/dvi assuming you don't have display monitors! From looking on the web i think that your card supports two monitors, two DVI I's out right? Maximum resolution is only 2560x1600 assuming DVI out. Hope that this link helps:http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=171900That triple head to go costs as much as a resonable video card, i would steer well clear. Ian R Tyldesley
May 15, 201115 yr That triple head to go costs as much as a resonable video card, i would steer well clear.the price thats why I dont have one tripple/dual head2go. its a pity i just heard about that surround stuff at the end of my weekend. its always like a treasuer hunt when you find some new setups and solutions etc for modding fsx ;-)nicolas Nicolas Reich
