Desktop: i7 2600k @ 3.9 ghz, ATI Radeon 1GB 6870, 525W Alienware Aurora case, Alienware Liquid Cooling, 8GB Dual channel DDR3 Ram @ 1333Mhz, 2TRB Raid 0 HD, HP 2509b 1920 x 1080, FSX Gold Edition

Laptop: Dell Inspiron 14R, Pentium T4300 @ 2.1GHZ, Integrated Graphics, 320 GB HD :(

Should be quite good, you might want to try and unleash your CPU to its full potential. 3.9GHz is a stock standard intel OC. See my sig for what I just built myself. I get 25 -30 FPS with the PMDG 747,FTX AU @ FTX YBBN with Active Sky, REX2 etc all running and most sliders full right on the scale. You should not be far off this, maybe better, I have suspicions about my CPU not being one of the better batches.

No I think you got a goodie with those results. In the pmdg 747 at that same airport from orbx with rex2 i get between 15 and 20 on the runway. Ive got an i7 2600k with a nvidia gtx580

:( :( Yeah, it handles FSX well enough (50-55deg), but overheats when running OCCT, Prime etc benchmarks (70+ deg). 3DMark Vantage survived tho. Vcore never seems to go over 1.4V in FSX @ 4.6GHz, which is good as well.

Ok i overclocked my GPU, it runs at about 65C in the PMDG MD-11 Heathrow, settings maxed, full traffic. Will I be able to upgrade to a GTX 590 from the 6870 in the future, or will I Have to stay with AMD to upgrade my GPU.

Unless you do a whole lot of other gaming, that $700 will be wasted on FSX because it's so cpu dependent. Money would be better spent on a GTX460 & some more addons Big%20Grin.gifThat or a GTX 580 & fewer additional addons

^ "oh I guess it would be a waste having that $700 video card"....ahahha funniest open revelation I've ever seen. Ok but you should get GTX 570. No doubt 460 great value but will run outta the kick you need when playing new titles at 1080 and beyond.
