Processor model for FS9/FSX

Featured Replies

HiI just want to have the confirmation that i7 2600k is today the best processor to run FS9 (and FSX?) on a new rig.My understanding is that going to 6 or 8 slower cores won't help as FS9 runs on one core only. What is the best Motherboard to support this CPU together with a high end video card?ThanksGhiom

Confirmed... well, i5-2500k is probably better since it's $100 cheaper. That, an Asus P8Z68 or P8P67 Pro, and a GTX 560 will have you well on your way to flight sim zen.Check out the FSXMark11 benchmark results for further confirmation.

Corey is pritty right on this. I went the cheaper way with the i5-2500k and an Asus P8P67 Pro board. Works perfectly and I´m now able to fly any aricraft I want in FSX without thinking about my FPS (FSX currently down because of software problems.). Just check out the benchmark results and convince yourselfe. you won´t be dissappointed

Best regards, Steffen
