It's a decent PSU - I'd go for the seasonicx750 or x850 (I run the 750) - it's modular unlike the TXhttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151087&Tpk=seasonic%20x750If you dont need the gold plus, certainly stick with the TX v2:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139021&cm_re=corsair_v2-_-17-139-021-_-Product

I have this PSU and it has treated me fairly well. There was a random two week period where it would squeal a little as I scrolled through a web page. I would still recommend a Seasonic X750 as Ryan said, but this thing will work just fine if you're on a really tight budget. Modular is also very nice, but admittedly I like how the cables on my non-modular PSU exit right through the grommet in the mobo tray. Food for thought...CIMG3715.JPG

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'm mostly interested in whether the psu has good ripple protection because like I said I have a cheap one, and suddenly my rig stopped working. I narrowed it down and suspect the motherboard so I RMA it. I'm just scared that my psu caused the motherboard to fry and could kill any of my other parts also. Also, I have been thinking of getting the 850 tx v2z in terms of sli, what graphics cards, and how many of them, would I be able to get from the 650 vs 750 vs 850?

I'd go with the Seasonic if you're really looking for that...Under high load the Seasonic units perform exceptionally well:http://www.hardocp.com/article/2009/09/25/seasonic_x_series_x750_power_supply_review/8

Thanks for the reply Ryan. Do you know if seasonic has other models that aren't modular and are cheaper around the 700-800 watt range?Edit:I had been thinking of a corsair tx 850v2 instead of the 650 and have just seen on newegg that the seasonic x650 is only 10 dollars more than the corsair 850 (with less wattage obviously). I know the seasonic 650 wont be doing more than 2 cards in sli, but what cards can I potentially put in sli with this psu. I mean, 2 560's in sli, 2 570's, or possibly even 2 580's?
