What happened to Havana?

Featured Replies

Hey guys,Apart from some issues FSX runs well. Sure, FPS is very bad here and there for reasons I don't understand and I get a CTD near LatinVFR's Aurora (ntdll.dll error, most of the time). However, none of these issues beat the weirdness of the error I found in Havana's bay, Cuba. Here's a shot:weird_havana.jpgI have no idea where it came from or what it is supposed to do. I have no sceneries at all for Cuba. Sceneries I do have are for Caribbean islands that are not even near Cuba. The closest airport I have probably is KFLL. UTX also isn't the problem, checked that. I hoped that somebody here has seen this issue and has any idea where it comes from. See, beside that it looks weird as hell, I get terrible performance when flying over these "things". As soon as I look in another direction, performance is better, but otherwise, my FPS get reduced to a mere 6FPS.

Just when we though that you were all set with FSX, lol.Yep, something is not right with all those gray strips everywhere. Maybe you could post a copy of your scenery.cfg that we could have a look at to make sure something isn't out of order or missing?

That's camouflage, it looks like that when any American aeroplanes fly over it. If you put on a Che Guevara T-Shirt and a beret with a star on it, it will revert to normal :( Al

Yeah, funny eh? I, too, thought I wa finally going to enjoy a flawless FSX world. Seems something like that simply doesn't exist. I'll post the scenery.cfg soon.

Those "things" look like a combination of non-elevated extrusion bridges, couple with runways on the top. That many extrusion bridges would slow things down considerably. You can do this while in the sim, so I'd get in position and then toggle off half of the add on entries in the Scenery Library and hit OK. Leave the default entries active, ie Addon Scenery and below. FSX will reload and you can see if it disappeared. If not, disable 1/2 of what's remaining in the library. Narrowing it down helps isolate IMO.Don't be surprised if it's some stray file from who knows where. Saw something that messed up Seattle, Wa and the add on causing the problem was for India.

Thanks for the tip. I'll do that sometime this week, see where the problems disappears.
