DirectX 9 or DirectX 10?

Featured Replies

What are you guys running on your FSX DirectX 9 or DirectX 10? When I run mine under DirectX 10 it feels smoother, but then at the airports taxi lines are jittery, overlapping runway textures, aircraft lights don't work right and virtual taxi way is not working either. When running under DirectX 9 all previously issues are fixed, but sim is not as smooth, even though I'm getting between 25 - 45 fps. Any help is greatly appreciated.Thank you.

From what I gather your DX, no matter if it is DX9, DX10 or DX11 will only use what it can based on your computer's OS and hardware configuration. I may be wrong but I do not think having DX11 installed on a non Win7 installation will have any ill effects on your display or sound.

There´s nothing wrong with your system. All the issues you´ve listed are known issues of DX10.

I have (and reported some of) the same problems you mentioned, but I used 10 anyway. Using that and InfinityMask=12 gets me very smooth simming--even Spot plane view! (the only time spot plane is horribly choppy is when doing a playback.

Is there anything that can be done to smooth-out the simming in DX9 mode? Any tweaks?
