June 5, 201115 yr >Imagine if the fellas on the other side had tried to copy the Blackbird (like they tried to copy every other aircraft including the B-70 Valkyrie) and they could never get the jet really screaming because they had the spike movement reversed!Oh my, we are not talking about some secret invention but about basic supersonic aerodynamics!!!'They' copied everything? Especially if you look at aerodynamics the US was often way behind the Russians as can be clearly seen when comparing with the capabilities of the Mig29/Su27 and US planes from the same time frame. And without Russian scientists the 'Have Blue' wouldn't have been possible etc....But I admit that I most probably would have been traumatized as well after having being accused of being a spy....

ROTFLMAO!Your last sentence makes no sense at all.Cheers,- jahman.

July 21, 201114 yr I personally knew SR-71 crew, Major Blair Bozek and met his pilot Dan House. There isn't much air at 85,000ft available to enter the engines so yes, 'Spikes back'. Blackbird was officially the worlds highest ever 'air breathing' aircraft.Concorde's cieling was 60,000ft. Dave Taylor
