Flight and fuel planner

Recommended Posts

Anybody have any suggestions for flight and fuel planning software for the PMDG 747-400X? It'll be cool if there's a software that could make real life like dispatches as well.

Fuelplaner! Take a look at TopcatSteinar Grindstein
Problem is that Topcat doesn't take into account winds aloft (if you fly with those). Try FSBuild, but remember that it has about 5t extra planned per default, and that fuel consumption is lower because it plans at mach .86, and normal cruise isn't at .86. Subract about 6 or 7t and you'll have a good estimate from FSBuild.

Try mine then. It will take user entered Winds Aloft Data, and calculate accordingly. You will need a Google Account to use and the link is in my signature.

Coming soon and made by the people behind TOPCAT:http://www.pfpx.com
Apart from the NGX, PFPX is another must have product to look forward to in the near future! I love TOPCAT, but I've been hoping for an accurate fuel planner for ages that takes into account not just aloft winds (like FSBuild), but also considers engine rating and cost index, which FSBuild cannot use because it's aircraft performance files tend to be a one size fits all with fixed values for cruise speeds and fuel burn. Basically, I take the FSbuild suggested fuel load, input expected cruise winds by waypoint (not the average winds), see what the final reserve fuel is at and work from there. From what I have heard, the most accurate fuel planner of all is the actual FMC in the addon aircraft, I believe the real world dispatchers have a replica of the aircraft FMC on their computers for this purpose.I can't wait to use PFPX with the NGX, it will be nice to have all my flight and fuel planning needs handled by one application. I wonder if it will integrate nicely with Active Sky Evolution's winds aloft predictions, as there is a stark difference between the expected winds by waypoint in FSBuild vs ASE.
