AI traffic and parallel runways

Featured Replies

What was implied in my post was that the AAL parking area would have its own exit from the runway. Either convert one or add a new one. And entrances, of course. I'm not saying my idea is better than yours, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. For drive through parking (which this is not), folks have to do all sorts of fancy plumbing.Bob

Hi,You cannot use a plumbing solution for multiple runways, since ATC in FS does not assign an arriving aircraft to a runway based on its parking location (ATC doesn't even know where that plane is going to park until it is off the runway and asks for taxi instructions). ATC will assign one of a set of parallel runways so that the plane lands on the runway closest to its arrival direction. So if a plane is arriving from the north, it will land on the North runway. If from the south, the South runway is used. No Center runway is normally used for landing, unless one of the other choices is either too short for that type of plane, does not have an ILS (etc.) in IFR conditions, or has been closed in an AFCAD type file.Hope this helps,

Alrighty, then.Bob
