ATC LAX

Featured Replies

I have read many questions on this forum regarding this issue but to no avail I haven't. I have a question regarding flying into LAX from anywhere. Everything is going great until ATC gives me landing direction, it gives me the option of other runways but everytime I click on the number (ATC) to direct me to another runway all it gives me is back. It will not allow me to choose another runway. Has anyone out there ever had the same problem? To get around it I land on my own, but would rather have ATC give me landing direction. So far it seems to be LAX as I fly into other Airports with no problems so far. I look forward to hearing from Flight simmers you are the best. I also like to read other questions on the forum in hopes to learn more. Thanks, best regards.Simfun

I get the same thing also - no option to select another runway for landing.I'll be interested to see if anyone else has the problem and if there is a work-around.

HiI made a flight from KSFO to KLAX today. ATC sends me to RW 6L for landing. After choosing and asking to land on RW 7L ATC directed me landing on RW 7L. I use "Stock Airport" of KLAX and have no further difficulties.I have no any idee why you have that problem.Willy

i dont know much more than i read here on avsim but it is possible that the afcad got corrupted and all other runways are closed for landing?just pulling at straws.

I just completed a few more tests and find that if you are using the "stock" airport there is no problem - at least on my setup. But I normally use the KLAX enhancement by Bill Malichar (or is it Melichar?) along with an afcad by Ryan Chadwick. The problem with ATC and requesting a different runway for landing seems to only happen when using that combination. EDIT Added:I just tried a different Afcad - one by Kenneth Weik (klax_gat.zip at Flightsim) with the Bill Melichar KLAX enhancement - and now I do get the "other runway request" option working properly. That would seem to point to some kind of issue with the Afcad by Ryan,

glad to see that my afcad fixed your issue!
