July 2, 201114 yr Hi,I am new to GPS and have avoided it but have decided to give it a shot. I installed the the RXP GPS and left the Default 430. Loaded a flight plan but cannot get it to navigate the gps route. GPS in GPS mode. In other planes there was a Nav GPS switch. I have used the GPS in the Duke but for the life of me cant figure outwhat is happening. Please go slow on this as I am not that familiar yet with the dual setup. I did notice that the flight plan does not show on the RXP GPS and was a little curious as to why. Geez maybe I will go back to VOR. Any help would be much appreciated.Bob Officially retired
July 2, 201114 yr I'd guess that the RXP has the priority there, so you have to run a flight plan in that unit while the one in the default thing will be disregarded. The Nav/GPS switch can be found on the unit itself, either stating a green GPS or a white VLOC. Press the CDI button on the RXP unit to toggle those settings. You also want to have the RXP as priority system since only then you can make use of the guidance features it offers over the default GPS.But altering any settings there will be easy with the RXP setup tool of course.

July 2, 201114 yr Author Hi All,Geez, I now remember that. I did install the carenado 530 back in and all worked well. So the RXP must be done manually no exceptions yes?ThanksBob FS flightplans do not load into the RXP unit, that's why it doesn't show in the GPS unit - you must enter the plan manually.DJHi Yep I answered below. I did of course know about the GPS/VLOC on the GPS. What was confusing is that some aircraft have a NAV/GPS independent switch. Not sure why but that is what I was used to using.Below a fellow answered and state that the RXP has to be manually fed and cannot use a flight plan. Thanks for chiming in!!BobI'd guess that the RXP has the priority there, so you have to run a flight plan in that unit while the one in the default thing will be disregarded.
