Click on "fly", a/c at gate circles backwards, won't stop

Hi all,When I set up a flight with any 747 at Melbourne, Sydney, & JFK, even with *all* power off, the plane circles backwards. The rear half of the plane is also underground. File>Reset doesn't help. I've removed all "previous flight", "saved flight", autosaved flights. Tried loading "Cold and Dark", same thing happens. Because of disabilities and vision problems, I've only gotten through MSFSX 747, 747F, PMDG 747X, 747XF, 747-8i, 7478F, at those 4 airports. There has to be a setting or configuration somewhere that is telling the a/c to go backwards. Does anyone know where it might be?Missions work fine, lessons work fine. FSX.CFG has been run through *******' fsx.cfg tuner, but that was 6+ months ago, before this problem started. If there's a more appropriate place to post, I would appreciate being directed to that forum. This is on FSX SP2+Acceleration, with Fraps, WinXP SP3 fully patched.thanks in advance,danp.s. In case it matters, the machine is ASUS P6T, i7-920, VisionTek Radeon HD 5770, 4 GB RAM, 2 x 1TB disk, Antec 900 case, XFX 850W PS

Cut,Copy, and Save your fsx.cfg and let it build a new one. Thats step 1 and most times fixes it.

There is a special configuration file that comes with the 747-8i and you have to make sure it is set to the proper PMDG 747 type before you load FSX. That might be causing your problem. Hitting F2 on the keyboard would activate the reversers and maybe that was somehow activated.Best regards,Jim

Stupid question, maybe, but you don't have 'Slew" on, do you? If so - just press the "Y" button. Just a thought.... :(

Hi again,Thanks very much! I will give those a try as soon as my kids can be dragged away from the computer. I don't know what "slew" is, but it certainly could have been activated by mistake. There's no visual evidence of the thrust reversers, but I'll try shutting them off. I'd have thought they'd shut down when I shut down the engines and APU. Goodness knows stranger things have happened. Will report back ASAP.

Listen to what Jim said, you need to configure the 747 in both the :Configuration Manager and Load Manager".

That was it. For some reason I have two different configuration managers. Running one results in an a/c going backwards. Running the other (which is newer) results in a normal flight. Even though that worked, I let FSX rebuild the FSX.CFG. That fixed some flashing scenery. Thanks for the suggestions! It's nice to be able to actually fly again.Best to all,dan
