AI Aircraft frozen

Featured Replies

anyone else had this problem? not sure if it is an "AISmooth" problem or not. Many aircraft around the airport will become frozen and suspended in midair. This just started recently. I have been using AI Smooth for years and never had any problems like this. Any ideas?

When this happens alt-tab to progress through different windows to see if any error messages are displayed. You should be using AI Smooth version 1.20. It is in the FSX Utility library here but works in FS9 as well. Get the latest FSUIPC especially if you are running VISTA or Win 7. Also your shortcut to start AIS should have a property set to run the program at admin level. FSUIPC is here on two links. Install the full version followed by the interim version.http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.htmlhttp://forum.simflight.com/topic/66139-updated-modules/Be sure in all of your security applications particularly any antivirus applications that AIS is allowed as a safe program. Some AV applications do not like the frequent access of disk or windows system intermessaging between applications. Now, please clarify your description a bit. Is it ground AI that don't move or air AI especially on approach. Do you mean an actual movement freeze or that they get stuck in holding patterns. Here are my AIS settings:Distance of AI aircraft to landing aircraft [NM] 3.000000Distance of user aircraft to landing aircraft [NM] 5.000000Heading range for intercept [°] 40Global Approach Fix Distance [NM] 15Minimum Separation Time [sec] 65User plane response (disabled)Show ATC messages (disabled)Minimum IFR Holding Altitude [ft MSL] 1000.000000Landing Release Altitude [ft AGL] 5.000000Minimum centerline distance [NM] 2.000000Poll interval [msec] 1000Control Batchsize 5Command Delay [msec] 50Reduce speed on approach (disabled) Use dynamic speed table (enabled)Speak ATC messages (disabled)

thanks for the response ronzie. i am still investigating what is happening.aircraft on the ground move fine. they taxi to the runway and takeoff. but it appears that they just stop flying when they get 4 or 5 miles from the runway and become suspended in air.i was using the 1.2 version but when i started having this problem, i deleted it and installed version 1.11a. unfortunately i am still having the problem

All I can tell you is that AIS moves AI in holding patterns by slewing them (using direct commands to FS).Can you run a test with just FS9 and AIS to see if something else is trying to manipulate AI? Only FS and AIS should be manipulating AI.

i think it has to be AISmooth. i flew a lot last night with out AIS and didnt see any suspended aircraft. the weird thing is when this started i deleted version 1.2 and went back to 1.1 but still the same problem. i wonder if their is a file somewhere that i need to delete. very frustrating
