July 10, 201114 yr Hello guys, I am aware that this topic must have been discussed already, but I cannot find a fix, and I need some help.On my new computer, the 2600k is clocked at 4.6, the video is GTX 580 and there 8 GB RAM.The problem is that after I applied *******' automatic fsx.cfg tool, I started seeing an increase of spikes in the autogen when I pan around in spot view. Staying on default setting minimizes those but takes away my precious frames in Frankfurt.I have almost everything to the right, except special effects and water, bar traffic.Any help?
July 10, 201114 yr Moderator Are your FPS locked either internally in the FSX UI or using the external FPS limiter?The reason I ask is because I normally run completely unlocked FPS when using complex a/c and scenery, but when I switch to a light g/a aircraft and less dense scenery and forget to lock my FPS around 28 to 30 I get the spikes and the FPS are thru the roof and bouncing all over the place. As soon as I lock the FPS the spikes go away.They are unlocked, I did notice a correlation between those, as once I turned on the upper limit, they went away... But the integrated limiter is just terrible imo..

But the integrated limiter is just terrible imo..I suppose if locking the FPS makes the spikes go away and you dont like the internal limiter you could always try using the external limiter.I've never used the external limited since the internal one seems to work fine for me, but maybe the external one would be a good option for you with the FPS locked in it and set unlimited in FSX.
