I backup my programs to CD's. Every so often when I start a backup XP tells me that there is extra information that is attached to the file that might not get backed up. Everything still works after the backup. I was wondering what this extra information is and has anyone been affected by it?JimCYWG

I used to get this message backing up using my Acronis Home Edition. It never affected any of my backup files and I was able to restore them. I now use Microsoft's Backup and Restore program in Windows 7, and none of these messages appear using that software. I wouldn't worry about it.
