December 17, 200322 yr Hey guys, is it possible to create the taxiway without the visual taxiway, like it was in FS2002? I have a small bush strip, and don't want the asphalt taxi way. Looked over the readme, saw no reference of this, any help appreciated!Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://mysite.verizon.net/res052cd/mybannercva1.jpgCalVirAir International VAwww.calvirair.comCougar Mountain Helicopters & Aviationwww.cgrmtnhelos.com Best, Michael KDFW
December 17, 200322 yr As I recall, one of the taxiway types is called apron. It lets the underlying surface show. I do not recall of the taxi line itself is transparent but it is mentioned in the docs, at least the latest version.
December 17, 200322 yr Author Michael,it is possible, just make the width 0 and no lines or lights. Done that with a few of my grass strips so I can have some AI traffic doing circuits...Beware, though, if you have a Hold Short node, make the taxiway segments that connect to it width 1 or the program will crash. I solved that by inserting two normal nodes as close to the hold short node as possible, so these two width 1 segments are very short and virtually invisible. Works great...EDIT: And make the taxiway surface grass, of course :)Regards,Jurehttp://www.reality-xp.com/community/nr/rsc/rxp-higher.jpg
December 21, 200322 yr Hi Michael,I asked Lee a similar question directly, here is his reply:As with everything on the AFCAD screen, you change the properties of anobject from its properties window. You get that window y double-clicking onit. If you select all objects by pressing CTRL+A, then hold down the shiftkey and double-click a taxiway line (the line down the middle), then changethe surface type on the properties window, they will all change. The sameapplies to aprons, but you click on the edge to bring up the apronproperties. This is all in the ReadMe, by the way.Le
