Utva 75 v2.4. Freeware

Featured Replies

The Utva seems to be a top notch FS2004 freeware aircraft. I only took it up for a quick spin but it is very impressive. The 2d & 3d panels are great and so by the way is the documentation. Kudos for a great job to the team that put it together: by Goran Savic, FSDS2 model by Luka Midic. I am amazed by the quality of work in the freeware area. I have several aircraft, a mix of payware and freeware. It really makes it a pleasure to explore the newest releases. My last payware was the B-25 from MAAM and it is great. And, what about the freeware Cessna 195? What a beautiful airplane. I was so impressed with the realair Cessna 172 that I am considering the payware Super Decathlon or SF260. I don't know if this is a hobby, lifestyle or obsession with me--but who cares I enjoy it! I had to post this after reading some of the negative stuff hitting the forum.:D

I could not agree with you more, i.e., both as regards the excellent Utva75 in particular and the many other Freeware add-ons. Quite a bit of payware is put to shame. Regarding the Utva75 my only wish would have been not to have the automatic installer. A manual install is always preferred by me in all circumstances. But that is a personal prefernce.Congratulations and a big thank you on a job really well done to the Utva75 team. May you shower us simmers with more such goodies.Aarmin

Any realair product is money well spent. I have the SF260 and cant imagine not having it.Eric

Yes, the Utva75 is a really cool little plane, you can tell a lot of time went into this design. It replaces the Robin that doesn't work in FS9 for me.On the installation, just copy over the FS9 EXE and then point it to the dummy folder, then after you manually install, run the DOS batch installer in the sound folder, it will copy all the needed sound files to that folder and you are set. I did notice one of the models has no VC or 2D panel and that the prop texture should not have been saved in DXT format as it corrupts the alpha making it look grainy, but otherwise a beautiful aircraft!Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://mysite.verizon.net/res052cd/mybannercva1.jpgCalVirAir International VAwww.calvirair.comCougar Mountain Helicopters & Aviationwww.cgrmtnhelos.com

I agree, great job! I have never heard of this plane, but it is a fun one to fly, looks great and works great. Thanks,

You may have no fears about the auto-installer. The reason for it seems to be that the designers very cleverly arranged it so that ALL the gauges go into a separate sub-folder within the main gauges folder, rather than write a copious manual that people ignore then whinge when they can't get the gauges to show up!If you want to delete the aircraft all you do is delete the aircraft from the folder and the entire gauge sub-folder. Two clicks and done!Easy, although I grant you they could just as easily have put the gauges folder IN the aircraft folder using FS9 new rules (but not for 2002 for which the plane is also suitable). Don't think anyone will want to delete this. It looks right (never seen a UTVA in the flesh so can't say more than that) it flies right and it has oodles of character. Fantastic Freeware!Allcott

The engine just turns over when you click the starter with your mouse. However, Ctrl+E makes it catch and run. Am finding it a bit underpowered though, specially as it reaches 4-5K feet, even with the mixture leaned. Any comments or suggestions welcome.Aarmin

What do ya expect - it's Yugoslavian :D!I'm from there anyway so I can criticize the aviation industry (such as it was) of the former Yugoslavia...;) ;) ;)

Hi The service ceiling of UTVA 75 is 4000m and It's unlikely to fly even over 2000m with this plane. Goran

......... "A manual install is always preferred by me in all circumstances. But that is a personal prefernce."........I'm like you, I don't like auto installers. I've had all sorts of probs in the past. Why don't you just point the installer to a folder of your choice then install manually from there? Best wishesIsmetM

Hi IsmetM,I have faux folders created for all my 3 FS's. FS2K, FS2K2 and FS2K4. All software with auto install is done there, then copied to the real sim and then I use the uninstaller provided to try and erase everything (hopefully even the registry entries). In fact I have the 'false' sim folders on a totally different HDD.I only wished to convey that manual control is any day better as in many cases duplication is avoided as well as errors, also I have evolved a logic for space saving and /or to circumvent some limitations in FS. One thought could be for authors to post 2 files (separately - to avoid big file sizes) one with manual install and the other with auto.Regards,Aarmin

Hi Aarmin,Yes, I see, you already use a folder. With three Flight sims...it could be a real headache. I've always wondered why developers use autoinstallers. I guess that they want to be sure that those users who are not au fait with moving files around manually end up with a correct installation. Your idea of posting two files might well help.RegardsismetM
