July 22, 201114 yr Hi allI have the CD version of RC4. I've recently upgraded to Windows 7 and have tried to reinstall it (it worked fine on XP). When I try to extract the contents of the CD, it refuses to copy the RCV43-0.bin file and gives me a 0x80004005 error. The exe file and the other bin file copy across fine. Can anyone help as this is very frustrating :-( Darren

July 22, 201114 yr A couple of hints for installing RC4 on Win 7:On the installer right click on it and select run as admin.Set up a shortcut to RC and right click on the shortcut and set its advanced property to run as admin.Do not install it under any Program Files folder to insure proper access between it and other applications. After installing RC update FSUIPC and makerwys.exe from the pinned topic links above, then run again the RC scenery rebuild from within RC.Please familiarize yourself with this pinned topic, especially if installing a 64 bit version of Windows:http://forum.avsim.net/topic/265834-713-and-unregistered-dlls/When you get your new registration key and paste it in from your e-mail, eliminate any trailing spaces from the paste. Just highlight the new key and copy it, the set your cursor in the registration key field and hit ctrl-v to paste it in. Keep your product ID and returned registration key in a text file and copy the downloaded RC installation file and that text file on a CD as backup. That key will be good unless you reformat your system.I also suggest you keep a path to FS in a text file with a desktop shortcut to copy/paste it in the rebuild scenery dialog box. It saves typing that long string in each time and reducing typos. Mine is:h:\program files\microsoft games\flight simulator 9
