Saitek / VrInsight panels and the NGX

Featured Replies

First off, I would like to congratulate the PMDG team as well as the beta testers for all their hard work in completing the best thing that has ever happened to FSX. This long-awaited release will break barriers and set an entirely new standard for add-ons, and many including myself simply cannot wait for its release in the coming days. With that said, I am now switching from the 'I wonder when' mindset to the 'What happens when' mindset, as I am prepping my system to adopt the new release.I'm sure I am not the only one with extra hardware FSX controls such as the Saitek panels and VrInsight products. These are amazing additions to FSX and provide a higher level of simulation control and are enjoyed by many. I know these have been addressed in the past topics posted by PMDG, but I would like a dedicated topic to clarify this issue. Will there ever be compatibility to use these products with the 737 NGX? What things need to be done in order for this to happen? No matter what the NGX will be amazing to fly, but I will be somewhat disappointed if my panels (Saitek Radio panel, VrInsight M-panel) remain unusable with this simulation.Thank you again, and my best regards to such a fine development team.Zach Akers

It have been told several times there would be a SDK so it would be up to the hardware manufactors to create the driver that works whit it. or if some one like my self would try create lua fiels mabe macro for the plane but hope it is a bit easyer than the PMDG J41 i am curenly working on for goflight MCP-PRO but the Lvars gives me some troubels the past few days to get led light at the right time, but basicly converting a 737 mcp to J41 isent that easy.Best regards Lars .N

The Saitek panels and controllers are plug and play, so they should work with any aircraft in FSX, I would think. Of course since the NGX may not use a lot of stuff from default FSX, that may cause some problem, but I would think that just the radio panel should work good.Bob

Ryan said the SDK will be compatible with Lua, so there should be a script in no time. The first thing I'll do with the NGX will be to setup my controls / VRInsight MCP combo with Lua

I would be glad to Donate some funds to the person that comes up with a working script so that I can use my Vrinsight MCP Combo panel with the PMDG 737NGX... Thanks again... John.

I just heard from Vrinsight via email,..... they have told me that they are making a profile so that we can use the MCP-Combo with the NGX, it will be out in a week or so. Please email them to support the need that this profile be created for MCP-Combo
