July 29, 201114 yr What if I have two hard drives on my Windows 7 system. My C drive is a 1TB capacity drive with my operating system and my other drive (D) is a 300 GB Velociraptor 10,000 rpm drive. For the best FSX performance should I install FSX on the C drive in a separate partition or the D drive? On which drive should the page file reside? July 29, 201114 yr I would go OS on :C, FSX on :D and don't worry/mess with the page file location. JMHO Regards, Kendall 7800X3D/G.B. Aorus 650 Elite V2.0/32GB GSkill Trident 6000-CL30/Nvidia 1080 Ti./Seasonic Focus 1200W PSU.
July 29, 201114 yr AirbusThe general consensus is that the paging file should be on the system drive, but with adequate amounts of physical RAM it won't be used very much wrt FSX. This is an excellent article and discussion on the paging file and you will see that even the experts working for Microsoft can disagree about the paging file:http://blogs.technet...17/3155406.aspx and http://support.microsoft.com/kb/889654RegardsPeterH
