July 29, 201114 yr Hey guys i know this has already been heavily discussed throughout the forums but i LITERALLY CANNOT get this damn thing to work. I am running Windows 7 x64, i have java installed and working properly, i cannot open the JAR file as its supposed to open, so i tried making my own .bat file as suggested by others. Still no luck. I tried moving files around and placing them directly into my FSX directory, still no luck. The only thing i get when i attempt to open the jar file that came with the program, is a quick flash of a dos screen, same thing when i try to run the .bat file that i created. Here is the .bat file i created: "C:\FSX\FPS Limiter\FPS_Limiter.exe" /r:D3D9 /f:30 /x:OFF /l:OFF "C:\FSX\fsx.exe" I know people have had a tremendous amount of luck with this program and i know my system meets the criteria for having it work as well as it has for others. I know there must be some small thing i'm missing. Please someone help. Rob Jaworski Rob Jaworski
July 29, 201114 yr You said: "I tried moving files around " Not a good solution... Place the whole FPS Limiter folder inside FSX and go from there, it should work. Help: http://forum.avsim.n...ter-02-and-fsx/ Have you updated DirectX?
July 29, 201114 yr Author PFL, i had done that already.. Fortunately, after being frustrated all last night, i woke up refreshed, and about 20 mins ago i got it working. The trick was that those little quotations in the syntax had to be JUSt RIGHT, and also, there needed to be a copy of the batch file INSIDE the FPS LIMITER folder INSIDE the FSX directory. PROBLEM SOLVED... that was rough haha. Thank you though! Rob Jaworski
July 29, 201114 yr You´re welcome! Yes, and that´s exactly what I was thinking you did and this is where people go wrong, they "move the stuff around" !! Don´t move the stuff around, pls.! Glad you got it working..
July 31, 201114 yr BTW I have slightly different syntax in my batch file: Start C:\"FSX\FPS Limiter\"FPS_Limiter.exe /r:D3D9 /f:30 /x:OFF /l:OFF "C:\FSX\fsx.exe which I guess causes a new command window to open to run the fps_limiter.exe in. I don't know that that's any advantage though. One thing maybe if you have a problem with a batch file not running instead open a command prompt window with admin privilege and run your batch script from there so you should see any errors that get returned (like file not found). All the jar file does is provide a GUI for setting the parameters and writing the batch file. You can just edit the batch file as text to get the same results. scott s..
