July 31, 201114 yr Im running a 64bit Win 7 so i know i have to put that file into the FSX folder. My question: Do I do it after installing SP2 or before the service packs? Im sure this has been posted many times but i couldn't find it in the archives. PS Do you literally just paste it into the FSX folder, or is there a specific folder within the FSX folder? thanks for the help! - Mitch Mitch Brown Private Pilot | Aerospace Engineering Major
July 31, 201114 yr Author In the end. Doesn't matter though I think.Into main FSX folder. Is it just that simple? do you have to "activate" it or something or does it just know? Thanks Mitch Brown Private Pilot | Aerospace Engineering Major
August 1, 201114 yr While you're in the root FSX folder - hold Shift and right click, Select "Open command window here" from the list of options, then copy/paste this:- regsvr32 UIAutomationCore.dll i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.

Does that make sense? Mitch Brown Private Pilot | Aerospace Engineering Major
August 1, 201114 yr Forgive my ignorance. What exactly does all this do and why do we need to do it? Al Stiff
August 1, 201114 yr It's a long thread, and deals with a couple of other FSX/OS issues, but the gist of it is that (using Win7/64) one will get a black screen or a pause in the execution of FSX (sound still working) after 20 - 30 or so keypresses. The problem is that the existing Win7/64 system UIAutomationCore.dlls do not work properly with the 32-bit FSX, and so the solution is to copy the 32-bit Vista version of the file into the FSX folder, where the 32-bit FSX will find it. Registering the dll will make sure it is found, as the OS systems folders are in the default %PATH%. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itproappcompat/thread/fb1808ff-92f0-478b-9826-f2ed6fbeae97 i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.

August 1, 201114 yr How do you register it? You do read your own thread? Paul J:While you're in the root FSX folder - hold Shift and right click, Select "Open command window here" from the list of options, then copy/paste this:- regsvr32 UIAutomationCore.dll And btw... there is no need for that. As long as it's in the FSX's main folder, FSX will use that one. And it goes into SAME folder where your FSX.exe is, NOT the one you mentioned above.

So are you saying there is no need to do the shift right click "open command window here"? Also, am I supposed to register it like some people have said? Do i need to delete any files? August 1, 201114 yr So are you saying there is no need to do the shift right click "open command window here"? Also, am I supposed to register it like some people have said? Do i need to delete any files? Oh Lord...REGISTER is the same as activate as you call it. Regsvr32 is the command for registering dll files. No, it's not needed to register it. It's going to be used by FSX if you put IN THE MAIN FSX FOLDER.What do you want to delete? It would be kind of you if you would stop questioning what other tell you. It's been said, do it, and if you run into problems AFTER you did it, write up.
