August 2, 201114 yr Chaching. I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on the H100. That's a nice build! ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
August 2, 201114 yr I'm guessing you're spending a fair bit more on that mechanical HD than you need to, 6Gb SATA is worthless unless you're running a latest generation SSD. If you just need some more storage I'd recommend a larger drive without any gimmicks. 2TB drives can be had for less than $100 now, depending on where you shop. Otherwise it all looks good, enjoy!
August 2, 201114 yr Author I already have a 2tb I am putting into it from my current system (holds all my data, downloads, etc). Only paying $60 for the 1 tb. Actually, I have so many HDD around here I can't manage. What I really need is a NAS and be done with it. scott s..

Any good drives, or other equipment you can't handle can be sent to me and I will try to put them to work. I suggest upping your PSU a bit to 800W+ as just 700W is running very close to the edge. Also, if I was building a brand new system today, I might go with the 3G 580 GTX instead of the 1.5G, as there are so many good reports about them. Otherwise, very good mix. Kind regards,
August 10, 201114 yr Author Got it together, 48 hr burn in and got Win7 installed and updated, installed NVidia 275 drivers (guess some WHQL 280s are out today). I didn't install the Intel IGP drivers -- not sure if I have a use for it yet or the "Virtu" feature. A couple quick pics The MB is kind of old-school dark brown with all black sockets. Note the H100 cooler has connections on the pump for 4, 3-pin fans (2 installed in push exhausting out the top). A Molex provides pump power and for the fans, and a 3-pin provides fan rpm to the MB. The fans I guess are set to maintain 40c coolant temp. There's 3 fan settings, only using the "medium" setting so far. scott s..
