August 3, 201114 yr Hey, gents. I've been having a probem when trying to unfeather the props for engine start. Since I intalled the JS41 for the first time, I couldn't manage to unfeather the props as fast as I've seen in some videos out there. I have to press the unfeather button many times and wait several minutes for my props to be in the appropriate position for engine start. I always have successful start-ups, but I have to wait a looong time for the props. I followed the tutorial and normal procedures, but nothing. Even with FS2Crew's FO helping me out, it still takes a good amount of time to unfeather the props. Am I missing something? Matheus Mafra
August 3, 201114 yr No, I think it's just the way it is. Keep hitting those unfeather switches (I use the mouse wheel). A way to avoid this is to put the aircraft into reverse (F2) when it loads and you hear the engines winding down. This will put the propellers on the locks without the need to unfeather anything. August 3, 201114 yr In reality it takes few minutes but in this simulation, it should take about 10 seconds to unfeather, if it takes longer then there's something wrong going on. Make sure you load default plane before loading J41.
August 4, 201114 yr Author I don't know how fast it is in the real plane, but in the videos I've watched, it only takes about 10 seconds in the sim as Grzegors said. Some times I forget to set the levers in reverse when I shut the engines down or don't do it properly, so then I have to unfeather. I'm not really sure, but I think that even when I load the default Cessna 172 before the JS41 I still get a slow prop unfeather. I'll check that when I get home. Matheus Mafra
August 4, 201114 yr Matheus, please try my way of loading aircraft, go to Documents directory and double click the tutorial saved flight and then check the plane. This way you will avoid any possible interference between planes loaded into FSX. That's how I start all my addon aircraft and I never have any compatibility problems.
August 4, 201114 yr Author For some stupid reason I deleted the tutorial save files, but I tried loading the default Cessna before the JS41 and it's working now. Takes about those 10-15 secs we see in the videos. I started FS2Crew up to set the plane in cold 'n' dark and then tried again, and it's still working. No need to turn the unfeather button back and forth every time and no more wainting 5¨to 10 minutes to start the engines anymore. Thanks a lot, Grzegors. Matheus Mafra
