VERY slow download speeds

Featured Replies

Sorry, don't mean to add to the ever expanding topic list here, I'm thankful to finally get my order through successfully on the ecommerce site and I have just started the download. My download speed is very very slow (48 KB/sec) and it fluctuates from anywhere between 4-2 hours remaining time. I have Verizon Fios, and just about anything I download is so quick (no matter what the filesize) that I often ignore the speed counter. But now, I feel like I'm back on AOL in 1995. Is this related to the DDOS, or is it the sheer volume of folks downloading at the same time? If not related to the DDOS, I thought the idea was to rent a server farm or other temporary space to help with the load on the initial launch?

I'm having the same problem. Tried the link four times now, on a LAN connection that's pretty high speed, relatively speaking. It got to 121MB and then froze, now this time it's at 39.5MB and seemingly frozen again, but I'm just gonna let it go for hours and hope for the best. I don't know what else to do, other than keep searching the forums. Anyone with a clue, that'd be great! William EzzellKATL

This may be related to the devil incarnate, Verizon (in my own, personal, former-Verizon-customer opinion). Ok, joking aside, this is not related to the DOS attack. Have you tried starting another download? Could just be your location, bad luck, or something with your provider. The servers are working well. Try a download manager, it could increase speeds for you, and allow you to resume a broken download.

I am happy to try a download manager. Any recs? I am using Comcast btw. I'm so confused and utterly defeated - ugh I want this thing so bad. Hopefully the ticket response will yield glory.
