Older Nav Data question

Recommended Posts

I have an older set of Jepp charts from 2010 and use an late 2010 Airac. If I install the old airac over the one that came with the NGX will it cause any problems? (Does the new Airac have features not included in older ones?). Thanks

I don't think it would cause problems. Navdata is navdata as far as I'm aware. If you're worried about it, just save the current navdata before you overwrite it with the old stuff.

After having some misplaced airports (in FSX I assume) and missing ones in PMDG's I used Pete Dowson's "MakeAirports" in order to extract the FS locations and to tranfer them with the help of a little tool into PMDG format. There might be now a disagreement regarding other nav aids and fixes but as I do not know how to generate this kind of data from FS BGLs I decided not to care about that too much. With other words, you can feed in what you want as long as the data format is correct. However, never forget to back-up your original files. @Ryan: What are the selection criteria for airports/runways shown in the FMC? It seems to me that the runway length should have a minimum of 3000ft but I cannot see any criteria for runway surfaces. In my tool I can select both, the minimum length and the runway surfaces I want to include. Regards,Axel
