Ah, well that explains it, thanks Ryan! Save myself the headache of trying and failing over and over again. I'll just fly it manually and give the FMS and LNAV a break ;) Thanks for all the input guys!

I understand what you mean, but the real NG doesn't have procedure turns in the FMC in the first place.. You most always get vectors to intercept the LOC anyway..

So basically the only approaches it can handle are either Vectors (obviously) or initial approach fixes with NoPT or holds? How about DME arcs? The J41 flew Arcs no problem, although now that I think of it, it lacked procedure turns and holds as well. Also, Tabs just posted the RF (radius to fix) RNP approaches don't work either, which is a real shame as most all the RNP approaches I see have a requirement for RF. Was it not advertised as being able to fly RNP approaches?!

The NG will fly holding patterns using LNAV.. as far as DME arcs, you'll just have to keep your eye on DME and keep it relatively constant, either with heading select or hand flying.. If flying a holding pattern, make sure the legs are setup correctly if using LNAV..Or you can get tricky and program waypoints to fly a DME/ARC if they are available.. Pain though..

Excuse me... LNAV will not fly a a string of legs ? or the string of LEGS does not exist ? btw : All approaches are RNP limited. 0.3 usually.

LNAV will fly a holding pattern, you need to set it up in FMC and program the outbound and inbound headings and it flies it beautifully..
