August 6, 201114 yr I'm reading a lot of issues that can be solved if you follow instructions in the introduction manual. I did all recommendations (after the first sessions in which I didn't) and ik works perfectly. Before I had to lower my settings and it worked okay. Now I have my settings higher and it works briljant! And best tip: use the site mentioned in this introduction and dowload your new fsx.cfg http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html For example: I had planes that disappeared when loading radar contact, or switching tasks. Now it is all solved! Without recommendations 15-21 FPS. With them: 30-55 FPS. Great document! Take your time to read it. Just wanted to give you this tip, because I know a lot of people are so excited to fly that they don't read manuals (like me ). And of course: amazing product. It was well worth the wait! August 6, 201114 yr +1. Too bad this post has around zero views so far, but it should be noted. Saves a lot of trouble.
August 6, 201114 yr Agreed. Going through the tutorial slowly, carefully, enjoyably solved all of my problems before I had any, especially with configuration and procedural stuff not working like LNAV, VNAV, TOGA etc. The manual is extremely well written. August 6, 201114 yr It's also important to let people know that if they choose not to use http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html and want to modify fsx.cfg themselves, one of the key parameters for the NGX to work properly is misspelled in the introduction. It should be: HIGHMEMFIX = 1 Not HIMEMFIX = 1 as it appears in page 12. cheersEnrique Vaamonde Enrique Vaamonde
August 6, 201114 yr I agree to reading the introduction and going through the tutorial carefully. But I think it's acceptable to ask questions that may be answered somewhere in the FCOM - we're all friends here, and it's okay to ask some fellow simmers about some behaviour or feature that might otherwise require searching through thousands of pages of documentation that is written with professional pilots in mind.
