  1. I did my first flight with RexE/737NGX today and saw no differences or problems, except that the WX was awesome. The best I've seen yet.
  2. I don't know if this was mentioned earlier because <sorry> I haven't read completely through the several pages in this thread. It makes sense to me that if you choose to uninstall Rex+Overdrive and Install Essentials, that a necessary first step would be to fire up REX and restore your original FSX textures before uninstalling it. I did that last night without problems. Once Essentials are up and running create a texture backup like in the old REX. Here is what I did.... Start REX and restore original FSX textures. Fire up FSX to check if all is okay. Uninstall REX Overdrive Fire up FSX again to see if all is okay. Install new copy of Essentials <downloaded from FSS> Run Essentials, make backup of FSX textures and completely configure program Fire up FSX and tweak away. Check operation with PMDG aircraft. Sorry...just a thought :)
  3. Am I the only one who thinks that threads like this are retarded? Many of the items posted here are available through add-ons. The 737NGX is the most advanced simulation ever for FSX. How far can you realistically expect them to go with it?Let PMDG do what they already have planned...release 600/700/SP1/SDK and then concentrate their efforts on releasing their next product and fixing whatever "bugs" creep up in this one. Adding all of these features may possibly ruin the delicate balance that is the NGX. Leave it alone and move on.Just my humble opinion.
  4. Yeah...I guess I was. The real thrill was seeing them out over the water. Say what you want about fighter jocks but these guys were the best pilots in the navy.
  5. Let me say it again....N A V Y!!!! When i was in the Navy I was stationed near Jacksonville NAS. I used to love watching the P3 Orions come in and out all day. When I was out to sea I was on an anti-sub destroyer (Knox class frigate) and used to love to watch them operate....two engines feathered loitering 100 feet off the water in a 50-60 degree bank, dropping sonobuoys and doing MAD sweeps ....gawd...that was awesome. The P3 was always my favorite military bird. The 737 is a worthy successor. To see one in that flight attitude...my god..I might just die and go to heaven. oh yeah...NAVY stands for N ever A gain V olunteer Y ourself ROFL!
  6. I think it looks awesome Ray. Great job. I need to get one of these up and running.
  7. Man...you're a tough audience.
  8. No doubt. It's a top down weather map hahaha :)I never use that gauge. I find us useless, Especially when I have the app running on the other computer. This gives me an idea...I'd love to try to get RealityXP's weather radar operational in the NG's VC. Perhaps I'll give it a shot. I have it running in the J41.
  9. Same here pretty much...FSC9, REX, ASE, AES, FSCaptain or FSPassengers, Radar Contact, UT2, FlyTampa, FSDreamTeam. Nothing here adversely affects my frames except some of the airports. Everything lives in harmony with the current NGX, J41, 747 and MD11.
  10. Works for me too. I'm currently not having any problems with the NGX, and I'm really looking forward to the 600/700. Are there any screen shots it? <sorry...haven't looked> Thanks for the update!
  11. I have never done holds with the CDU on this aircraft before so I had to try it. I spent about 2 hours experimenting. I setup a flight from KLGA to KBOS with many waypoints in between and put it through the wringer. I wanted to familiarize myself with the CDU pages and wanted to see how the plane behaved. I tried every conceivable test.....hold at current pos, hold at waypoint, different holding courses requiring parallel, teardrop and direct entries (several of each left and right). The aircraft behaved perfectly making all the entries properly, acceleration/deceleration right on target every time. It only seemed to get confused one time during a teardrop entry but I have to admit I was pushing it to the limit giving it all kinds of wild orders. In all cases it kept me within the hold airspace. Great job PMDG! I now feel confident that I can put the ship wherever the controller asks me to. Thanks Fred for motivating me to familiarize myself with the procedures.
  12. KJFK Kennedy Intl on Long Island (FS DreamTeam)
  13. Great video! I love the way the wind/crab angle kept changing.
