Blue Screening

Featured Replies

Hi, Since i installed the PMDG NGX my computer has blue screened when ever i try to fly it, i can get as far as the runway or maybe VR then my computer will crash. Regards, Richie.

wait... are you getting blue screen, or crash to desktop? You can't have both. After a crash to desktop, FSX closes, and you see your desktop. After a blue screen, your whole computer restarts, POST beeps, black screen with writing on it, "starting windows" screen, you know... So... which one is it?

Blue screens are most often the result of a faulty hardware configuration. You might be having a too high overclock for your cpu / memory voltage setting

Definitely what Johan said above. My guess is that something overheats in you computer, most likely the CPU or GPU. Use a temperature alerter to tell you what's going on. I have the standard Asus PC Probe that starts going crazy if temperature goes up. If you do get an overheat, ensure better cooling for the PC, and lower some settings to make life easier for your computer.

My CPU is at 4.21Ghz (which is what it was before i bought it) if i turned up my fan on my computer to 100% when running FSX, do you know if this will do anything?

UMMMMMM shouldn't be a memory issue then, This going to sound daft but is your processor fan ~& GPU fan running alright..

My CPU has played up in the past, i reformatted my com puter and it ran fine, the fan seems to work ok aswell.

Intel I7 950 3.07Ghz overclocked to 4.21Ghz but this was overclocked by "over clockers" themselves.

Right ok have you had this issue before installing and flying the NGX/? Its hardware issue im in a forum at the moment about it and to be honest the guy has the same problem on COD so i'd recommend you restore your cpu to stock m8 because i think its over heating will save you alot of money. maybe you might need more cooler air system. Don't damage your pocket and push it m8 not wise.

Get the code in the blue screen and look it up with google... they look like, 0x000000101.Most likely having to with voltages/temps when overclocking... Not all chips react the same to overclocking. They may have done a standard overclock, but you got lucky with that one chip that can't handle the load.

Never had the Blue screening before the NGX, what i'll try is putting the CPU back down to stock speed, thanks Steve, i'll get back to you with results.
