Flashes

Featured Replies

Hi, Need a little help here. Every fifteen minutes or so in FSX I get strange flashes in the sky. When I get the random flashes my FPS drops. The anomaly only last for about a minute then is gone. Any idea what could be causing this? When the flashes are not occuring everything runs as smooth as silk. I thought maybe it was a driver issue and tried a couple of different ones. No change. Occurs with any aircraft. FSX SP2GEXUTEXREX2ASE Intel I5 2500K oc'd to 4.5 GHZAsus P8P67 ProNvidia GTX 560TI

Sounds like you hit a lightning storm! ASE can do that sometimes... Best regards,Jim

Sounds like you are using ASE standard mode. This is a disadvantage of that mode. Try DWC Or smooth cloud mode, and the problem should go away.

Is HIGHMEMFIX=1 in your gsx.cfg? If it's not - put it there, under [GRAPHICS].

It's caused by SimConnect when weather is being injected into it by ASE in standard mode. As microsoft is no longer supporting SimConnect, we are stuck with it unfortunately. See this link in the Hifi Support forum: http://forum.avsim.n...f-cockpit-view/

Gotcha, hey guys thanks for the feedback. I have FSX tuned using Bjote's tweaking website, and it runs very smooth. Just the annoying flashing, and its not lightning, every once in awhile. Guess I will just have to live with it. I do have the highmemfix added to my .cfg. Thanks.

As a few have correctly suggested, run ASE in a different Depiction mode and you should see them go away.
