Landing lights not illuminating

Featured Replies

Anyone else having the same problem as me? The landing lights are not illuminating anything. Is this a setting I missed or a tweak I need to add? I want to see the amazingly realistic lights I've heard so much about! Thanks in advance. :)

Yes, if I could only find my post asking the same question! You can see them illuminating thru the 2D view, but not VC. Noel

Are you running any sort of scenery add-ons? I know some scenery add-ons can hide landing lights unless you take extra actions.

same here, but as i figured out only when i peviously loaded it from my savegames. when starting a new flight it's just fine. maybe the textures are not loaded correctly? there is also a tiny lighting bug inside the cockpit when i load a night flight savegame. all lights load correctly but the mcp is not illuminated as soon i click once on the light bug. then it's on.

Well, it's one of those things that appears to be 100% related ONLY to the NGX, as no other planes do this, and I have quite a few now, include PMDG 747 and J4100, so it's odd.

This bug (yes, I call it a bug when ONLY the NGX behaves this way and no other planes do) could be related to my DEFAULT saved game. What I have always done is create a flight like I want all my flights to start with, ie with engines running and ready for pushback essentially. Here's the way I always start a NEW flight:
  1. Open FSX
  2. Go to Flight Planner
  3. Choose an aircraft
  4. Create a new or open a previously saved Flight Plan
  5. Fly

I never open up saved Flights except if I'm testing something, I just open up saved Flight Plans, and load the aircraft I am going to use before I hit Fly.

I had the same thing happen to me. Kinda bizarre. But when those lights work, they are amazing! Never seen lights that lit up scenery so realistically.
