  1. Can someone point me to the section in the FCOM for the clock? I want to know how to use its features. I know it's a simple request but I can't find it anywhere.
  2. Dumb question, but what does the fix D172N actually mean? I've actually kinda wondered what some of these random number fixes are...
  3. Frederic, yeah I know. The issue was that it was not letting me upselect legs that I already had in the FP. I think it was a tiny bug. Just fixed it by reloading the arrival. Haha.
  4. Going direct to fix in FP. I fixed it just be reloading the arrival but that was really strange. I couldn't select any fixes
  5. I'm flying to KSAN right now and I decided to step through my flight plan using the PLAN feature, then returned to normal use. I tried to upselect a leg on the LEGS page in order to do a Direct to and then I got an error saying Not in Data Base on the FMS. Is that normal? And how do I fix it?
  6. Change of Magnetic Variation. I'm not sure at Tampa, but I know for a fact RW TNCM is now 10/28 because of changing magnetic headings. I bet you that is your problem at Tampa too. You just don't have updated scenery to reflect it.
  7. I don't understand why you have to be so derogatory. I thought we were all adults? From my understanding the MLW and such is an option from Boeing. Why can't you use the one in the FCOM? Please don't flame me if I'm ignorant. Just asking a question. Sorry if I can't "grasp" the question because I'm so stupid to understand. Edit: Also, when original poster asked about the Max takeoff and cited 79,200 (or about) for the CDU, that is because that is the High Gross takeoff configuration. Apparently I can't link to airliners.net, but all the info is right there. Instead of fighting about why you need the information, do a quick google search for it. Make a logical conclusion that that is what the CDU is set to. So if you want to simulate not having certification for that, don't put it to that weight and use the lower 70,533. If you then enter, per the FCOM, 65,317 kg into your program as MLW, I'm sure you will be just fine. All these weights are for vanilla Boeing 737-800. If you want the EXACT weights for the specific airline, then look it up on other RW sites like airliners.net which has real pilots that talk about their company birds. That's the only way to find all this and enjoy "as real as it gets." Unless you have someone who will dress up in a flight attendant uniform and will bring you coffee when you chime her in.
  8. I'm just saying why not use the numbers already programmed into the FMC? That should have everything that PMDG programmed this plane to be.
  9. James, thanks for the explanation. I know quite a bit about computers in general but RAM has always been hazy for me. Time to hit the books I guess.. haha :(
  10. I don't understand the issue if you say in the cockpit it gives you 79.2 kg? Why not just use that figure? The CDU should have everything programmed to the model specific. I think you're just wasting more time worrying about this then just going out and flying the bird! :(
  11. I agree here too. It also seems to not know when you are on the ground?
  12. I don't think so. I have 64-bit Win 7 professional with 6 GB RAM. I don't know how I could have an OOM issue. It never seems to be using more than 3 GB when I'm running the sim. If that causes an OOM issue then how could anyone run it since FSX is technically a 32-bit program?
  13. Well fortunately, I know how the hydraulic system works. I work in a hydraulic repair shop that my family has owned for 16 years... The problem is when you're seeing lower than 71%. Like 60%. Or lower. That means you're low. The percentage is in how much is in the reserve tank. Yes, the level will drop as systems are used. Example, you'll lose quite a bit of a percentage in the Tank A (correct me if I'm wrong) when you raise the gear. It's pumping more fluid into the system thus the reserve tank will be lower. When you lower the gear it will return the fluid back to the A tank. I really get sick of the "read the manual" comments. I understand the reason behind it but this is a community set up to help each other, not just give stupid answers such as "read the manual." The truth is some people are having trouble with the software or would like a basic help answer. Some people don't want to have to go through pages and pages of authentic Boeing documents that were written for the real aircraft (I understand that this amazing plane sims probably 95% of the manual contents.) Not everyone here aspires to be real pilots or even have to fly this plane "by the books." PMDG even claims this plane should suit the most hardcore simmer to even the casual one. If you don't believe me read the tutorial. Also the person who mentioned the "Sys A refill qty" (and B sys) in the failures menu, I think you're mistaken. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure this is to activate the system telling you to refill the fluid qty, not actually do it. Especially since it is in a list of failures for the hydraulic system.
  14. Surprised without so many responses why we're not getting a response from PMDG? Of course I know they're busy and activation issues and freezes are top priority as they should be. I just hope PMDG adds it to the list of investigations.
  15. Every single time I fly KSFO-KPDX I get this warning. Maybe it is related to flight plan?
