  1. Thanks dikkeduif for the link, this update is way overdue for my FS.
  2. Hello, I flew from KTPA to TNCM the other day and I noticed when I selected a departure runway in the CDU at Tampa the choices where runway 01/19 ??, it should be 36/18, then when I selected an arrival at TNCM it gave me runway 10/28 ??, should be 9/27. Anyone have an idea?
  3. Yeah, nothing is cheap these days. The SSD will speed up everything not just FSX, maybe try looking at the "hybrid Hard Drives" spinning disk and Solid State. They are said to be 80% faster than traditional hard drives, 500g for 149.00 US
  4. The Ivy bridge...yeah here we go again, Socket 2015, Intel says they are locking into this socket for 10 years..we will see.I personally am waiting to see what the specs are on this, upgrade the cpu and motherboard and wait.
  5. I assure you it does...I went from a 300g Raptor in raid 0 to a corsair 256g SSD and load times are cut in half, I'm talking scenery etc. There is more to it than just installing it, you need to enable Trim and set your BIOS to AHCI, if you have a motherboard with 6G/s Sata...even beter.
  6. Heck no an SSD is not a waste....yes they are more money but look at the read / write time's.OCZ Vertex 3 VTX3-25SAT3-240G 2.5" 240GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
  7. Shaney, The mother board you selected is Z68 (which this board does not allow you to use on CPU graphics, it should but you would not use this feature anyway ). As far as I know it does not support SLI (for future upgrades)The EVGA has better cooling and power phases for over clocking and runs @ 16 X16 lanes for your GPU, and I know personally there customer support rocks! So for what ever you go with a good mother board will give you a good foundation, working with computers the fastest MB will be EVGA, ASUS, Gigabyte( the higher end) and MSI. The 2500k will be "good" with a good mother board. V/RChris
  8. Shaney, It looks good, I personally would leave yourself some room for future up grades. I would change your mother board to a EVGA P67 SLI 130-SB-E675-KR.Up your CPU to the 2600K (and over clock it as far as you can) and cool it with a Corsair H100. (provided you have room in your case for dual rad)Check out this video card - EVGA SuperClocked 01G-P3-1567-KR GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 1GB for about the same price. The mem is great be sure you get the Vengeance with a cas latency of 8 and I to would move up to a 750 watt PSU min! With that set up you will be good to go for a few years and be able to upgrade when needed.
  9. Yeah, we shall see how it turns out.........LOLJohn Bergandy
