Am I expecting too much...

Featured Replies

Guys, you can see my specs below. Since buying the PMDG NGX, I have reinstalled it (as admin) and deleted and rebuilt my FSX.cfg file. My hard drives have been defraged using O&O Complete/Name (as per Nick N). So here is the issue, am I getting framerates as expected or should they be higher. NGX at Vancouver, FS Genesis, Ulitmate Terrain, REX2 clouds (at 1024), UT2 and WOAI traffic at 20%, Cars 12%, Boats 20%. All other settings per Nick N (so essentially most scenery on very high, draw distance 60nm, and I am getting anywhere from 15 to 24 FPS around the airport. In the air and in cruise it move up to 25 to 30 where it is locked (set unlimited and using frame rate limiter). Generally very smooth, with very occasional micro stutter. I guess I just expected it to be close to 30 all the time. I would appreciate your comments. Mark.

Naw that's about right. At KORD FSDT, with UTX, GEX, FEX (no ai traffic), on the runway facing terminals I get about 20 fps. I'm at 4.4GHz but my sig doesn't reflect it. I also run max autogen and LOD 6.5 Apparently I just don't read posts... sigh... Then yes, you're expecting too much lol!

I expect a bit more than those numbers 30-35 should cut it well.
