August 7, 201114 yr Author No sorry, the radial is just for PDB Waypoints.Let me get this straight from you in plain english, is what you want a waypoint, on your flightplan, that is 12NM before the waypoint BGI? Thanks for the help.. Anthony has answered my question.. .I didnt realize it had to be done from the scratchpad! Merci Brett Jennings
August 7, 201114 yr Thanks for the help.. Anthony has answered my question.. .I didnt realize it had to be done from the scratchpad!Great, but still not as per the manual. Still justifies a bug report IMHO. EDIT Even more, as there is another glitch, as per FCOM Vol. 2: [...] The createdwaypoint is then inserted over the original waypoint. [...] When you do that with an 'after'-waypoint (e. g. XYZ/5), it will insert it before the original one. Right now you need to insert it over the next waypoint (which is the normal way of doing it for inserting waypoints, but here the manuals tells us something else). As I understand the manual, you place the along-track wpt over the original one in any case - for me this implies the FMS would take care of inserting it before or after the original waypoint. Anyone? Edited August 7, 201114 yr by badderjet
August 13, 201114 yr Great, but still not as per the manual.Wrong, I was so wrong. It IS as per the manual, it just doesn't say it where WE were looking. The explanation is in FCOM Vol 1, SP.11.8 so if you want to have a look there... Sometimes the epiphany comes a little late. (alright but this one was hard to find ) Alright, but the "other" glitch remains. As per the manual: "The FMC will automatically position the created waypoint to appropriate position." That it certainly DON'T do thus far. Just FYI.
