  • A question for you I have tried to replicate this flight on the angle of attack site made by Chris. I have followed how he sets up his FMC step by step, except I haven't used s takeoff and climb reduction. But on my release version, each time I line insert 200 or FL200 or 20000 into the cruise altitude the FMC throws a wobbler, firstly all the crossing altitudes and speeds disappear in the legs page, also although I can line select and insert data with great difficulty it doesn't update also the ND wont update you can turn the heading knob on the MCP and the value changes but the magenta dotted line in the ND won't move. However if I insert a cruise alt of 6000 which equals the highest crossing point altitude in the legs page, the CDU and ND all work normally, it calculates the rest of the crossing Alts and speeds and you can take off and fly in auto with LNAV and VNAV and complete the flight!!!!!
  • Any comments or advise please. Phil

What flight do you mean? I can´t find any on the AOA site.

Nicks demo take off, he doesn't actually complete the flight it can be found here http://www.flyaoamedia.com/aoa/nicks-737ngx-takeoff/ Don't get confused with the actual flight, I am referring to the section when he demonstrates how to set up a quick flight in the FMC. He sets his cruise altitude at FL200. The proposed flight is from RWY 26L at Gatwick to RWY 24 at Rotterdam.

hi i did the flight with no problems

Yes, I wouldn't have thought my take off figures were wrong as I used the default load with 10000lbs fuel and no reductions at all, The aircraft should be capable of achieving FL200 between EGKK and EHRD. There has been another post with a similar problem using this route. Phil
