August 8, 201114 yr Hi there, my specs are in the signature, yet I get pretty bad frames, do you think that my computer is under powered with the 600W PSU.. should it be a bigger wattage? What do you think It could be? I've done tweaks by ******* and what not.. by the way, are there any other amazing tweaks? Thanks! Ross Thomson. August 8, 201114 yr The fact that you have 10GB of RAM is wrong hehe. If that's a 1st generation i7 (1366 socket), you want triple kits of memory. 3, 6, 9, 12. Not 10. 10 isn't even good for a second gen i7 with dual channel, you'd want 4, 8 etc... That may be causing stutters but I doubt it's the main problem. What defines "bad frames?" Are you using in-game AA and AF or nvidia inspector profile? Also, what about your in-game settings? Even I can't max out my settings and expect good performance. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
August 8, 201114 yr Author Thanks Ryan, By bad frames, I really mean stutters, I have nvidia inspector and everything, but I dont know what settings to put in, do you think you could help me on that? And my in game settings are at medium, and I'm talking about the PMDG 737 NGX. Ross Thomson. Intel i7 @ 4.2 Ghz | 10GB DDR3 Corsair | GTX 460 | 600W OCZ | Windows 7 Ultimate 64x. Email me
August 8, 201114 yr Ok different story hehe. The NGX is pretty rough on performance (most big jets are though). I'd go with 4x AA instead of 8x within inspector... Did you look at the inspector thread by nick n? http://www.simforums.com/forums/fsx-and-nhancer-settings-for-new-drivers-updated_topic36586.html | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
August 9, 201114 yr RossRyan is correct your 10GB RAM is unbalanced and may cause the issues that you are seeing especially if it is not matched. If you have an i7 8xx you need 4/8/16GB Dual channel DDR3 RAM and if you have an i7 9xx series as Ryan says you need 3/6/12 GB Triple channel DDR3 RAM as all matched modules. Sometimes if the RAM is not matched or not balanced you may see 'thread' collisions which can manifest as stutters (I'm not saying that is what is happening here but it might be). Also check you have the nvidia driver installed and not the default Win 7 drivers and your 460 may be causing a bottle neck with a 4.2GHz processor (GTX570/580 better match). One thing to try - back up your current fsx.cfg to a safe place delete the 'working' fsx.cfg - let FSX build a new default cfg file - don't alter anything - fly a similar route with a default plane.Do you still get stutters?RegardsPeterH
August 9, 201114 yr Author I do get stutters with a fresh cfg file, I'l try and buy a new graphics card, and I'l have a look at Nick's thread. Thanks lads! Ross Thomson. Intel i7 @ 4.2 Ghz | 10GB DDR3 Corsair | GTX 460 | 600W OCZ | Windows 7 Ultimate 64x. Email me
August 9, 201114 yr Yes your card could be the bottlenecking yor cpu. If you are using bojote's tweak try shutting off userpools if it's there in your fsx.cfg. just try before spending big. Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
