I am amazed!

I purchased the NGX over the weekend, a bit sooner than I first intended and more out of curiousity as to how it would run on my rig. I really expected a bit of a slide show. My rig comprises Gigabyte GA-EP31-DS3L mobo/Core2 Quad Q9650 @ 3GHz/4GB DDR2 PC2-6400 RAM/Geforce 9600GT 512MB. Now Ryan would probably say "That is so old! Run the NGX? You haven't got a hope in...."LOL.gif However, I am amazed. I have REX2 clouds, ASE for weather, WoAI traffic and all major UK airports are from the UK2000 Xtreme series. Having done the tweaks and settings suggested in the introduction and sitting on the ground at London Stansted (UK2000) I get about 20 fps. This is about 5 fps better than the JS4100 or the MD11X! And when on the move it is so smooth I fly with a big grin on my face. PMDG you have done a fantastic job! Sincere congratulations! I may upgrade my rig in a few months, so I can have, perhaps, more traffic and other sliders moved to the right but it is not the imperative I was sure it would be after purchase. Thank you. Hey Iain welcome to the club mate, I got it on Friday morning and whilst I had initial issues with HYD Pressure meaning I couldnt control surfaces I eventually got it working after wiping my entire system. I also removed my RAID0 Array though not sure if its slower or not. Performance is great. I was a fan of PMDG 744X but looking back on it the VC is poor compared to this baby. I've not had time to do a full flight just been messing around and flying some circuits. It's certainly a lot easier to hand fly than 'the other' 737 which is currently out there. Great to hear Iain, I have a QX6800 Oc'd to 3.4 GHZ with a GTX 280 and have been wondering if it would be adequate to run the NGX.Your post gives me hope! Praying.gif Andrew Dixon

All I can say is it is the best aircraft period. PMDG you have done it again. I have flown in a real 737 simulator and this PMDGNGX is the closest to the real thing. In my first flight EGKK-London Gatwick, England to EHAM Amsterdam Schiphol, The Netherlands I followed your guideline on tweak adjustments including NVidia Inspector configuration guide. I was used Active Sky Evolution Weather, FSX Google Evolution, Rex Real Environment and Ultimate Terrain Europe. Screen Resolution @ 1920x1200x32FSX Setting all maxed out except Traffic @ 20%I was getting 30 fps most of the time dropping to 20 @ Schiphol and Gatwick. Small correction on your TUTORIAL #1 We now need to make a few slight modifications to the route beforewe activate it.Press the DEL (delete) key at the bottom of the CDU and thenpress LSK 6R to remove the speed and altitude restriction atREDFA. Make sure you enter the delete on the right side of theCDU and not the left. Doing it on the left side will remove theentire waypoint! It should read “press LSK 5R to remove the speed and altitude restriction at REDFA”LSK 6R is to ACTIVATE but not the REDFA restriction line.
