August 10, 201114 yr Sitting on the ground at KDEN last night (VATSIM -- FSInn), I could see a few traffic diamonds on EFIS MAP. Later in the flight at 36,000 cruise altitude, I had oncoming traffic pass directly above me +1,000 feet above (and not more than 3 nm lateral), but I never saw it on the EFIS MAP. I did see it coming from over 30 miles away on the FSInn radar and I got a visual up close. I am sure I had the transponder to TA/RA and also the traffic MCP button pressed (the blue TFC indicator and white ring dots were showing). I wonder why it never displayed on the MAP. I will have to try some more flights to see if I can replicate/solve. Jason
August 10, 201114 yr Author Thanks for the tip Scott. The ND Display Filter was set to FILTER, 40nm, 2800 separation. My altitude was 36,000. Traffic was 37,000. I think I should have seen them. I have changed it to SHOW ALL (for now). Jason
August 17, 201114 yr I'm experiencing same isse here, but instead using FSInn, i'm using IVAP 2 external. I've seen a traffic coming up close on same airway on oposite direction, about 1000ft below me, and the ND doesn't catch him. But i've followed him through the ivap radar all the way long, until he disappears at distance. I've tried the two differents configs "SHOW ALL" and "FILTER". DOESN'T WORK at all. PMDG, I (we) expect some response to this thread. August 17, 201114 yr I bumped my traffic level up a bit last night while flying KAUS to KGSB on a Air Hauler mission. I dodged (okay, not really, but watched them go by at 1-2k separation) probably 5 AI planes (labels disabled), TCAS/EFIS worked as advertised in all instances (TA/RA selected, TFC button selection on dash). Nothing special with regards to external traffic control. Scott Burns
August 17, 201114 yr Author Since my original post, I changed my filter to 9999 (the highest variation that will correctly display on the ND). It seems to be working fine. I will have to watch some online traffic more closely to be sure that FSX and FSInn are reporting the traffic altitude correctly. Then I can dial down the altitude filter again. Jason
