December 30, 200322 yr Does anyone have any FS2004 flightplans for the Janet flights out of KLAS to Tonopah and Groom Lake? There is a file (janet.zip),from Pat Highgate, for FS2002 but the AFCAD's won't work in FS2004. I just got back from Las Vegas and saw the Janet planes from my window in the Mandalay Bay Hotel. Happy New Year to all, Bob.
December 31, 200322 yr Does FS 2004 even have a field at Groom Lake? I was looking at some maps a couple of weeks ago and couldn't determine quite where the field should be. The area South of Rachel NV seemed pretty likely, and the FS 2004 map ID for the restricted airspace matched the ID metioned in one of those "Area 51" cable shows. Encarta Atlas shows "Groom" approximately 37
December 31, 200322 yr Author Hi. Yes you are right there is no Groom in FS2004. I have scenery from FS2002 installed. It has Groom and the Tonopah Range fields. I believe it is here at Avsim. The only problem is that there is no AFCAD for Groom (Dreamland) for FS2004. I am trying to construct one for the Groom Scenery. I have the runway OK but am stuck on creating all the taxiways to match the scenery. I have one for TNX (Tonopah Range) and have regular Janet flights from KLAS to TNX thanks to the janet.zip file here at Avsim. I just wish I was more adept at AFCAD. I have Ultimate Traffic and used it to compile my flights. It is neat to sit at KLAS or TNK and watch the Janet planes takeoff and land. I sometimes use the Mobile Control Tower to watch the flights. I have the Janet planes sitting at KLAS and TNX. It is really fun to fly the AI Janet planes, which I made flyable, while the other Janets takeoff and land. I used EditVoicePack to make Tonopah ground and tower voices. There is a Janet callsign that someone else made, I don't remember who it was though. Regards and Happy New Year, Bob.
February 26, 200719 yr Janet Virtual Air is under a new Domain and management. "Janet Virtual Air" is Civilian pilots in Air Force registered (B732)planes that fly in and out of MOA's all over the USA....To transport parts and Military civilian employees. And now the Janet VA is under new management. We have broaden your routes to enclude other countrys. So JanetVA is no longer restricted to just the USA or KLAS.We also are running an FSHost Pilot Training Server to train our Pilots prior to them getting on the Multplayer VATSIM.NETWe are currently in an Western Europe FIR Tour on the pilot training server. And because it is a trainging server for Janet Pilots it is opened to the public so The new pilots will have other traffic to contend with while enorute to their destination.... We are Accepting pilot sign ups. Visit website for details. Also an AFCAD2 is available of the KLAS Janet terminals on the Janet download page @ WWW.JANETVA.ORG. And the afcad was created and modeled from a google sat image....Janet routes to AR51 and TPH from VegasFidoe, Showw, Pyrmd(BTY060030)14000' to Groom Lake! And the only differance to KTPH the altitudes are higher.Note these change quite often!you can also find Janet routes at fligtaware.com search call signs WWW210,394,310, etc.... or search by departure airport and look for the WWW callsigns. February 26, 200719 yr >runway OK but am stuck on creating all the taxiways to match>the scenery. What are you having trouble with exactly? The trick to doing that is to slew to the exact points in the existing scenery, and use those lat/long values for your taxiway points. (use SHIFT-Z to display coordinates).Everything should match up then.AFCAD also can show your location in FSX on the AFCAD display, which can also help in lining up. Finally the pink "reference line" feature in AFCAD is nice to get things straight and level.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2310 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 2.5-3-3-8 (1T), WD 250 gig 7200 rpm SATA2, CoolerMaster Praetorian case Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
