VC dome lighting in the 739

Featured Replies

Hi everyonethis screenshot is from the 900 with the "Dome White" switch set to "Bright". It doesn't light the main panel too much. domeLight900.png I found that the aircraft.cfg of the 800/800WL contains some lines that are missing in the 900: 738

[LIGHTS]//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing, 6=taxi, 7=recognition, 8=wing, 9=logo, 10=cabinlight.0 = 4, 47.000, 0.0, 5.500, fx_PMDG_NGX_vclightlight.1 = 4, 45.500, 0.0, 4.500, fx_PMDG_NGX_vclight[sMOKESYSTEM]smoke.0 = 46.000, 00.000, 5.000, fx_PMDG_NGX_vclightsmoke.1 = 47.000, -1.000, 5.000, fx_PMDG_NGX_vclightsmoke.2 = 47.000, 1.000, 5.000, fx_PMDG_NGX_vclight

Is that correct please? If it's in the manuals, please bear with me, I did a search but haven't got the time to read them all yet Another question (and this is most likely a RTFM answer worthy question, but still). What's that Smoke system lighting? I happened to have a key assignment to "Smoke System on/off" in FSX and it toggles some sort of dome lighting in the VC, but I can't find a switch for it. Is it some sort of automatic lighting that kicks in when smoke is detected in the cabin or the cockpit?

I think its for the emergency lighting.

Cheers, Andy.

Hi Andy.Forgot to mention, I already tried switching emergency lights on, but this smoke system lighting is much brighter than the emergency lights

Ahh OK. I think they have busted the dome lighting since the hotfix, certainly doesn't seem to work the way it did before for me, it hardly lights anything up now.

Cheers, Andy.

Strange, my -900 lights section looks like this

[LIGHTS]//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing, 6=taxi, 7=recognition, 8=wing, 9=logo, 10=cabinlight.0 = 4, 51.500, 0.0, 5.500, fx_PMDG_NGX_vclightlight.1 = 4, 50.000, 0.0, 4.500, fx_PMDG_NGX_vclight [sMOKESYSTEM]smoke.0 = 50.500, 00.000, 5.000, fx_PMDG_NGX_vclightsmoke.1 = 51.500, -1.000, 5.000, fx_PMDG_NGX_vclightsmoke.2 = 51.500, 1.000, 5.000, fx_PMDG_NGX_vclight

Using today's Hotfix. EDIT: my -900WL looks like yours, and has the same issue. Looks like it's just the 900 winglets that's messed up. Should just be able to copy the code over to fix it.

This is a known issue in the original installer. It will be fixed in a future service pack. The 900WL should be the same as the 900.

So it's safe to just copy over the relevant section to the -900WL cfg, Vin?

Alright, thanks Vin. Nothing that can't be manually fixed in the meantime. How about the smoke system lighting please? I found something about the lavatory smoke light in the manuals, not sure if that's it

it seems to work just fine

Thanks for the heads up. I posted in another thread though about your sticky and the .zip file. Might want to upgrade the 900NGXWL Aircraft.cfg file in the Zip File your asking people to download to fix the livery issue? http://forum.avsim.n...rcraftcfg-file/
