Not sure if I did this rite. I followed PMDG's instructions and added the "HIGHMEMFIX=1" to FSX.cfg. When I did this, there was an existing line there already but it says something like "HIMEMFIX=1". Now, was I supposed to edit the existing "HIMEMFIX=1" to "HIGHMEMFIX=1", or just add the suggedted "HIGHMEMFIX=1 and leave the existing "HIMEMFIX=1 there as well. Thanks.

Just finished the tutorial, landed everything running well, changed time from day to dusk while taxiing, and lost most textures, see-through cockpit etc. Went to check fsx.cfgand found that at the exact time I did the time change the HIGHMEMFIX=1 had been replaced by "HIMEMFIX=1".

Replace HIMEMFIX=1 with HIGHMEMFIX=1.This is a trick I used in my ARMA 2 .Cfgs, but try switching the files to Read-Only, so FSX Cannot change it back.

Anyone know what's changing the fsx.cfg file, and can it be fixed without switching to read-only?

HELLO,i done what was said by ******* on his site, he changed the cfg i then put in everything as per instuctions, and going back just now after reading above the cfg in fsx has changed back to what it was before? not only that i now have one with just fsx and another with fsx.CFG both with the same contents....the originals.. james.
