January 1, 200422 yr Your first cat is CAT I, then when it gets run over by a car you get CAT II, then ... well you can figure it out from there.
January 1, 200422 yr lol, but what re CATs for? what do they do? and whats minimum descent altitude and all those terms?adam
January 1, 200422 yr Actually with CATs the minimus descent is a lot higher as the higher the cat is allows it to releaxe itself and prepare for the fall and right itself if you upsidedown.Tower: Tell me what you see above youFrank Spencer : I see a corn field
January 1, 200422 yr Author CAT stands for category.CAT I takes pilots down to a decision height of 200 AGL, don't see any runway environment, up you go you can't land.CAT II takes you down below 200 feet DH but not below 100 feet AGL, aircraft/crew need to be certified.CAT III divided into CAT IIIA and CAT IIIB basically take you below the 100 AGL almost to the runway, the differnce between A and B is the RVR at the beginning of the runway, don't know the value of the top of my head. Autoland is mandatory on CAT III, obviously plane/crew needs certification for this.Thats all of the top of my head and its too early for me right now :)Chris
