August 15, 201114 yr I have two temperature monitoring programs with a 10 deg C between them. No idea which is correct. Any suggestions for a monitoring program that I can rely on? Winsows7, DualCore E4400, AsRock motherboard. regards, Dick near Pittsburgh, USA
August 15, 201114 yr Which are the programs ? Coretemp & HWMonitor are good. Don't look at the socket voltage you need to see the core voltages. Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
August 15, 201114 yr IMO Coretemp is very good. It gives you each 4 cores. It gives the high, low and current. It also gives TJ max which I don't know about. Could someone fill me in on what it is. I think it is just an another word for core temps I am not completely sure of it. Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
August 15, 201114 yr "What is TjMax?Tjunction Max (TjMax) is the maximum temperature the manufacturer has rated their processor at. This value represents the maximum temperature the hottest part of the processor core should not exceed. This value should not be confused with the TCaseMax rating, which indicates the maximum temperature the top-center of the processor's heatspreader should not exceed. If your CPU is rated for 100C TjMax, and it was nearing the 100C value in the temperature fields, that is a sign of overheating. The temperature should not exceed this value, or it may cause instability, shorten the life of the CPU and cause massive performance issues.A rule of thumb dictates that the temperature should be kept around 20C or lower below the TjMax value while under full load."...Core Temp FAQ Joe Brown

August 15, 201114 yr Have a look on Intel's website or within the box. TJMax should be somewhere Di Agron Dell XPS 15 L502X | Intel i5-2540m @ 2.60GHz | 4GB DDR3 1333MHz (2x2GB) | nVidia GT525M | Seagate 500GB 7200RPM | 15" 1366x768 | 23" LG 1360x768 | Got a hardware question? August 15, 201114 yr Never noticed TJMax on the box or manual. But you can read it with a Realtemp or CoreTemp for instance. And it usually is 98c for SB.
August 15, 201114 yr Hmmm I'm surprised its not hidden somewhere in the manual. I'm probably wrong so don't waste time looking there. Just get Realtemp or Coretemp as per Word Not Allowed's recommendation Di Agron Dell XPS 15 L502X | Intel i5-2540m @ 2.60GHz | 4GB DDR3 1333MHz (2x2GB) | nVidia GT525M | Seagate 500GB 7200RPM | 15" 1366x768 | 23" LG 1360x768 | Got a hardware question? August 15, 201114 yr I put my stake on this one http://forum.avsim.n...ost__p__2065793 Only more certain way is to physically measure it and compare results. I also suggest never running more than one temperature program at the same time. If you want to get real accurate with RealTemp make sure you follow the calibration process.
