Activation not possible

Featured Replies

I'm having same trouble. Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, US English, Core i7 CPU 930 @ 2.8GHz, 6GB RAM, always kept up to date with latest MOBO drivers and other windows updates, Norton Security, SSD drive, FSX freshly installed with both SP1 and SP2 (not on C drive which is SSD, but instead on my F hard drive), installed NGX and hotfix issued this past weekend. Same issue described above. I open FSX, begin to configure a flight. After selecting any of the PMDG options for NGX, it asks for an activation code, but after typing just 1-3 characters, what I typed disappears. I end up getting out of the loop by hitting cancel and then IMMEDIATELY hitting OK (must be quick) at the next screen that pops up. At that point, it closes down FSX completely. Please note I am NOT running international (ie non US English) Windows. Steve

Paradox - you're a genious! That worked great! Specifically, I went to order confirmation email, highlighted my license # and copied it onto the clipboard. Then I fired up FSX once again, I placed my cursor in the input box for the license #. Then I hovered my cursor over the OK/authorize button while I got ready for the next step. Then, quick as I possibly could, I hit Ctl-V to paste in the license # and I hit the left mouse button on the OK/authorize button. At first, it looked like it didn't work. But as i looked closely, I could see that it was still "thinking", evidently going out to the internet to verify my #. Within 15 seconds, voila! It came back as authorized! In the meantime, due to the problem mentioned earlier on this string, I could see that several other windows had accumulated asking for my license number. I just closed them all, closed FSX, and then reopened it. After I selected the NGX plane, it remained happy as a clam! Thank you Paradox! Steve

I had the same issue when trying to load my license number, the numbers would erase after I put them in. I did the ctrl-v trick and it seems nothing happened. Today I went back on FSX to retry the license code and the 737-800 just loaded !!! It must have accepted the license yesterday although it wouldn't initiate. Seems after rebooting computer all loaded well. I still cannot load the liveries as my computer says it doesn't know what program to use to open them. That said, my first flight in PMDG livery colors was successful. I flew a quick flight from KMBJ to TNCM. Non eventful flight with smooth landing. the 737 is a sweet simulation.
