August 16, 201114 yr After release of the NGX, I've seen and heard many people saying, that the NG was the first airliner to have been equipped with a Heads-Up-Display. However, I recall reading from Thomas Becher's book "Douglas Twinjets", that McDonnell Douglas offered HUD to MD80 series already at first half of the eighties. Information and pictures seem to exits very few and far between, though. August 16, 201114 yr This is news to me but thanks for sharing... Great find. Since Boeing owns McDonald Douglas now they can still take the credit (life isn't fare)... I don't know if Boeing made the claim or someone on these forums made the claim the NG was the first airliner to have a hud.
