You wonder how a 8 core CPU will really help with a game that struggles to fully utilise 4.

Yeah. Flight better implement some new technologies or else we will have some broke and unhappy flight simmers.

There you got it wrong VirginAus737 don't mind me saying :) , we are here only speaking about systems for FSX , how other games would perform on an 8 core is still beyond anyone's knowledge. If I am getting 30 fps full blown addons and settings It would not matter whether it's an Intel or an AMD. There are few people who are on a limited budget and may not be able to afford an i5. Not starting an intel / amd game :) I am 50% intel and 50% amd

Same here. I will use what works best. At the moment, Intel SB's work best. If AMD's work best in Flight, I'll use AMD

+1. Performance is performance and there flawless performance is priceless. If it comes from AMD who cares, you can still have an Intel sticker if it really matters.

I am not exactly sure what you are on about. I don't mind you disagreeing but . If your saying that the AMD can be OK then yes they can, just please repeat what you meant.

Nah I never said that AMD can be Ok, I meant whatever gives me 30fps on full blown addons and settings then it would not matter if it is intel or AMD , Yes I will agree that I have been with AMD's since years and really like them due to a good performance and price but that would not mean I am not an Intel "######" I also have intel systems. Whatever gives me performance in relation to FSX is my powerhouse. Other games I would not know as I have passed that gaming stage and those games were on the P3's and P4's and an AMD Sempron 3300+ and I still have it as my linux system. If you visit the ATI / AMD forums you will notice that the AMD user's they themselves say that the i5 and the i7 is a lot ahead against the Phenom. Phenom's cannot be compared to the i5's and i7's. If I had the green then why would I go for an Athlon series instead of the i5 2500K. Let us wait and see what the Bulldozer is all about and what performance and price can it give us. Hope this clears any confusion smile.png

Ok, now I get you and fully understand. AMD, i wouldn't but a current one because of the old architecture but that is been addressed with bulldozer along with a shrink of the transistors. If they are better, I would go for one, if not, stick with Intel

Yep AMD is still kind of using an older architecture , actually the only info on Bulldozer is @wiki. Maybe you can get some info here http://forums.amd.co...MVIEWTMP=Linear I still remember my first amd which was a 386sx and I also had the intel 386dx at the same moment.
