August 17, 201114 yr Hi all,Just wanting to up the FSX flight experience by adding a flight companion, wether it's a voice addon, a generic addon which makes each flight more realistic by adding sound AI or commands or whatever. I am wanting to add more realism to the flight experience........what to you all use, is it very compatiable with any addon aircraft etc? Many thanks in advance...........
August 17, 201114 yr You can start with Edit Voice Pack 4. An FSX Essential, if you ask me. Up there with UTII and ASE, but it's free. Significantly improves the default ATC chatter. Uses correct phraseology, and the speech can be sped up to realistic levels. I positively HATE the paralyzingly slow default speech speed levels; it's like they're all doped out on NyQuil or something...
August 17, 201114 yr Taken from my sig, these (in alpha order) are my "in-cockpit" must-haves for nearly every flight I make: AivlaSoft EFB - Navigraph-based procedure charts, route planner, interactive checklists, and a super-kneeboard device. Networkable. FS Captain - An ACARS-like device to track and grade your flight and an administrator tool to let you manage your career as an airline pilot. Also provides pre-recorded first officer and cabin crew chatter for ambience and in-flight feedback. (Has a yet-to-be-solved problem with only one known aircraft - the Flight 1 BN-2 Islander.) ISG - "Complex" glass panels and FMCs for all but the most complex aircraft (that naturally have their own terribly complex glass panels and FMCs). Multi Crew Experience - Speech controlled co-pilot. Works with virtually all default aircraft and a growing list of complex add-ons. (Uses TTS to "speak" with you.) It allows effective prodcedural scripting, verbal interactive checklists, and darn good voice control of both FSX ATC and Radar Contact ATC. VoxATC - A dedicated speech controlled / TTS responsive ATC - replaces the FSX AI engine. Excellent procedure simulator if you want to simulate flying actual SIDs and STARs. The speech control applications need a microphone and minimal training. The TTS elements need good TTS voices. All of these applications bring a great deal of "realism" to nearly any flight. What sort of flying do you prefer most??
August 17, 201114 yr Author Hmm, I guess I am wanting to learn all aspects of flight and true prep from startup to shutdown, I know this is the closest I will get to flying the real thing, I like setting up from around 80nm from my destination usually. Lately I am more interested in learning the procedures and going through checklists etc, not having a lot of time it has been a very slow learning curve, nevertheless I am very keen to learn more about instrument flying and doing it by the book, and just reading these forums I can see there is a ton of stuff I am yet to learn, thanks for sharing the info guys....will do some more investigating based on your recommendations.......many thanks indeed :) Treetop one question, does the editvoice pack autoomatically sets up the ATC or do I need to manually set it up for the airports I fly at or it sets up defaults for all airports? Many thanks in advance.......
