August 18, 201114 yr jd, KJDIEJKHOLGHJEFFNIIBOHMGMEAQHDAO -9471197 !marc !lynn The activation box just keeps re apearing. I run as administrator on Win 7 however I forgot to install as administrator. Could this be the issue, should I uninstall rc4 and then re install? If i do that will i need to get another activation email? Also I have both rcv4 and rcv4.3 for fs9 installed because i installed my old cd and then emailed you on how to get it going and you sent me a link to rcv4.3 and I installed it thinking it would overwrite but now i see both in my progs folder. Should I uninstall rcv4, might this be the problem? Thanks Marc Marc Lynn
August 18, 201114 yr Author I uninstalled and am reinstalling as administrator now, we'll see if that works. Hoping i can use the same key. let me know if this is not possible. Thank you Marc Lynn
August 18, 201114 yr Hi Marc,I think you should edit your post and remove the key from it. Not sure its a good idea to post it.Oh, and did you try to disable UAC? Helge Rasmussen
August 18, 201114 yr If you pasted in your key you must delete any trailing spaces so you cursor is right at the nd of the key. On a reinstall of the update RC asked you if installing for both or which version of FS. If you installed a dual version the are two RC folders, one of which is RCv4X or similar. RCv4 is for FS9 and RCv4X is for FSX. You should set up a shortcut to each one with its property set to run as admin and be sure the shortcut label refers to the FS9 or FSX version. As you run each version from its folder you need to install the FS paths you are using along with the .flt/.wxr path. Be sure you know the version you are running before entering your FS path when doing a scenery rebuilt so you will not get FS9 and FSX airport data crossed. When running the installer you do need to do the right click-run as admin. I also recommend check the registry for FS9 and FSX install paths with the free utility noted in the pinned topic on updating FSUIPC and makerwys. (The updates need to be installed after the RC install is complete and the scenery rebuild should be repeated after makerys is updated) You should check the rcv4.exe propert for the version number in each folder created. Right click on the file name, then properties, then version. It should read 4.3.0.3845.
August 19, 201114 yr Author My bad, somehow windows forgot to put the 1 on the end and i did not think to check it. This was the end of the product id. It is easy to feel stupid when things like this happen. But I am strong and will pull through. Sorry to put you all through it. Marc Lynn
